Introduction
Stedin College is a co-educational, affordable independent school, offering the CAPS curriculum for Grade R – 8 in 2022, with our first group of Grade 12’s matriculating in 2026.
Academic Excellence stands at the core of Stedin College, with an added emphasis on robotics, coding and entrepreneurship to ensure our learners receive a holistic education that is in line with the demands of the fourth (and future) industrial revolutions.
Our Motto Onwards and Upwards, encapsulates the essence of Stedin, equipping our learners with the emotional intelligence required for the world which awaits them after school and with the ability to keep moving onwards and upwards even when they have reached their own personal goals.
Stedin is located at the historic Walmer Country Club on Victoria Drive in Walmer, Port Elizabeth. Phase 1 in converting the existing building into a beautiful educational hub, will be completed in 2021. Both Stedin Primary and Stedin College will start at this campus in 2022, however is separate campus wings. Stedin Primary moving to the adjacent property for the 2023 academic year.
The St Christopher’s Private School Group is an affordable independent school group with two campuses, one in King William’s Town and the other in Kidd’s Beach, providing education to over 1400 learners. With the rising cost of education, rapid increase in urbanization and the demand for good quality education has created the demand for, high quality, independent school groups like St Christopher’s Private Schools to expand.
Edinvest Schools founded Canaan College in Umlazi and Etham College in Hilton. At the core Edinvest Schools are characterised by building and sustaining high quality, authentic inter-personal relationships. Edinvest’s unique selling point is the focus on developing entrepreneurial thinking and skills development to empower youth to uplift their own communities, contribute to job creation and the strengthening of the national economy.

Key Stakeholders
Mr Nhlanhla Khambule is the CEO of Edinvest which Canaan College, a private School at Umlazi KZN and Etham College, a private school in Hilton, KZN. He also owns Nest Pre-Primary and four Artisan Colleges.
Nhlanhla serves on the board of Agribusiness Development Agency (ADA) and previously served in the boards of Ithala and KZN Growth Fund. He was previously involved in listing a business on the JSE.
Nhlanhla holds a Masters in Development Finance from Stellenbosch University among his qualification.
Dr HJ van Daalen is the co-founder and Director of the St Christopher’s Private School Group. He holds a Master’s Degree with distinction from the University of Port Elizabeth (now known as Nelson Mandela University) and his Doctorate in industrial psychology from Pretoria University. His has a wealth of experience derived from having been a Professor, HOD of Industrial Psychology, as well as having served as Vice-Dean and as Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Fort Hare. He is a registered Industrial Psychologist and has more than thirty years of experience in this field and has consulted to some of the leading corporates in South Africa, Africa, Europe and Brazil.
He has served as the Chairperson of the Eastern Cape Region of the Psychological Society, the Chairperson of the Border Branch of the Institute of Personnel Management as well as on the Educational Subcommittee of the Professional Board for Psychology of the Health Professions Council of SA. He is a keen cyclist and has completed 13 Cape Town Cycle tours and various other similar events.
